1983 – 1988
Founding:
Rebranding to Ramraj Cotton:
Ramraj Cotton was established by Mr. K.R. Nagarajan Culturepreneur with a vision to popularize traditional Indian attire, initially as a small office in Tiruppur under the name Ramraj Khadi Traders with only dhoti“ Paarambariya Naagareegam Pudhiya Polivuden”. The brand transitioned to Ramraj Cotton as khadi was replaced by cotton, marking a new chapter in the company’s focus on premium cotton fabrics.

1989 – 1994
Expanding Product Line:
Ramraj Cotton expands its product line to include white shirts, innerwear, and various other men’s clothing, providing a complete traditional wear solution.

1995 – 2000
Launching Cotton Shirts and First Showroom:
Widespread Retail Expansion:
The brand began manufacturing white cotton shirts and launched its first exclusive showroom in Tiruppur (Thulasi rao street), further solidifying its presence in the market. With growing demand, Ramraj Cotton increased its retail presence, opening exclusive branded outlets across South India.

2007–2012
Establishing Manufacturing Excellence:
Ramraj Cotton established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, enhancing its production capacity while maintaining the quality of traditional craftsmanship.

2013 – 2018
First Export:
Global Presence:
The brand began exporting its products to international markets like Malaysia, the USA, and Singapore, taking Indian traditional wear to the global stage. Establishing brands like little stars for kids, linen park for linen shirts. Genxt for adjustable dhoti.By this time, Ramraj Cotton products were available in several countries, including the Middle East, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, catering to the Indian diaspora. Laggna started with pure silk dhotis, shirts and fabrics.

2019 – 2024
  • Ramraj Cotton launched its e-commerce website platform to allow customers worldwide to access its products with ease around the world.
  • Culture club started with matching dhoti and shirts.
  • Diversification into Women’s Wear:
  • Expanding beyond men’s traditional wear,
  • Ramraj Cotton introduced women’s wear and kids’ collections, broadening its customer base as “Ramyyam”.
  • Culture of India established for kurtas

Sustainability Initiatives:
Ramraj Cotton took significant steps toward sustainable fashion, integrating eco-friendly practices into its manufacturing process, aligning with its commitment to Gandhian simplicity and environmental stewardship.

42nd Anniversary:
Celebrating 42 years of promoting traditional Indian culture, Ramraj Cotton continues to lead the market in traditional attire, a growing global presence and a reputation for quality craftsmanship, and cultural preservation for more than 10 + countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Saudi, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Oman, UK, Canada, Australia, USA, Myanmar (Burma), etc…) with 300 + stores across South India.
